Nice Place in Mall Artha Gading With Free Wi-Fi

One more nice spot in Mall Artha Gading with Free Wi-Fi. But I don't know how, whether it's my stupidity or theirs, I cannot access Wi-Fi, so I just stuck here with hazelnut latte and it's raining outside..

Dazzler offers quite not too expensive food, as I can see, one cup of earl grey or any hot tea just 9.500-10.500 Rupiah, I just oredered Hazelnut Coffee which more look like a full glass of milk rather than coffee. Turned out, taste is good bit milky but it's latte say no more, I can smell hazelnut. Yummy..

Today, now, it's raining outside, heavily, makes it even nicer to spend some hours here to do browsing. Food specialty is italian, oh the location is in Mall Artha Gading, North Jakarta, I thinks it's on Ground Floor just opposite American Grill used to known as Sizzler.

This spot is worth second visit..

What's new in Kelapa Gading

This is what I know best because practically been living in Kelapa Gading for few weeks yikes, here are some good restaurant, coffee shop or food court in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta area.

Indonesian Food :
Raja Kumis Seafood serves, hmmm I don't really know how to translate this menu in English, but maybe some of you know Indonesian languange really well, Sop Kaki Kambing, Lamb Fried Rice (that's English), Nila Fish Peyek, Shrimp, Crabs.
Delivery Order call : 021-4521711, 4521903

Sate Khas Senayan - Inkopal Kelapa Gading Blok C 21-22
Serves famous Chicken Satay and there's this Duck Rice, never tried one though. For delivery order (I guess) 021-45859080

I gotta tell you I can't think of any Indonesian food right now, mayble I'll add later, those two I got from community magazine and can't find anything..

La Piazza (extension of Kelapa Gading Mall 1)
has a new food court now, La Terazza, there are 12 counters I guess, cheap really cheap price range Rp.9.000 - Rp. 20.000 but a good place to hang out, there are Waffle and dessert, Es Podeng, Ichiban Crepes, Toasty Kopitiam, Bakwan (meatball) Siomay and fried fries. Located on the 1st Floor of La Piazza.

Never tried all of those food, but I tried Bakwan and Toasty Kopitiam, quite decent than the others. A Bowl of Bakwan costs arount Rp. 16.000,-. Toasty Kopitiam has variety of toasts, Kaya Toast tastes good, Chicken Porridge and some other menu. You could hang out here after work out with bunch of your work-out friends. Yeah fitness center just beside the food court, Celebrity Fitness, has more than 100 aerobic classes, RPM, etc that's what's written in their signage hehe.

I'll update this post..soon.

Restaurant Review

Jakarta has lot of great food whether local or international cuisine, almost all of type of cuisines you may find in here. One of subdistrict that has thousand options of food is Kelapa Gading. You name it Indonesian (Padang, Makassar, Manado, Bali), Western, Japanese, Chinese, Seafood. It's all there. Located in North East Jakarta, Kelapa Gading always has been the source of many great food. If you crave for chinese food, you can find the authentic ones (not halal or contain pork) in North Jakarta area (Kelapa Gading, Sunter, Pluit)

Kelapa Gading
Ones of my favorites are:

Coto Makassar - Sop Konro
The famous one, located in Boulevard Raya, the rib is really really good with indonesian spices. Serves it hot with steamed white rice and a bowl of tasty soup. Slurp..You can choose steamed rib or barbeque one. Both are great.

Apollo - Hainan Chicken Rice
The best hainanese chicken rice I think, I am not calling it the big fancy restaurant but they serve really magnificent chicken rice using original recipe and it comes with a plate of steamed chicken, sweet pork, salty pork and an egg , trust me it's really worth to try.

212 - Seafood
Seafood lover, welcome to the seafood paradise hehe..I don't know the address but I can tell you a direction to go there if you'd like to. One of the best menu is Shrimp in salty egg, yummy, well you know seafood, of course there will be fish, shrimp, shellfish, crab. I suggest you order Crab with Padang Sauce..saucy and spicy. Nowhere to be found except in Indonesia.

I have to stop now, it's 3 in the morning and funny noise is starting coming from my stomach..I'll add another reviews in Kelapa Gading area real soon.

La Piazza - Kelapa Gading

Kelapa Gading is located in North East Jakarta, surrounded by subdistricts Cempaka Putih, Sunter and Pulo Mas. It stretches west to east from By Pass road to Cakung and north to south from Koja to Perintis Kemerdekaan road. Kelapa Gading has a total area of 1.633,7 hectare, or 2,14% of the total Jakarta city.

In Jakarta, Kelapa Gading is famous among the food lovers. They can find Indonesian food (Minang food, Javanese food, Sundanese food, Manadonese food, Makassarese food, etc), Chinese food, Japanese food, Thai food and Western food. The central point in Kelapa Gading is the area for food, known as Gading Food City and more hundreds restaurants along boulevard.

Try my favorite restaurant :
Sop Konro (Coto Makassar) - ribs serves with authentic Makassar soup in boulevard
Apollo - Hainan chicken rice in boulevard
Baji Pamai - Ujung Pandang chicken noodles in boulevard
212 Seafood
* I will update my blog with restaurant listings in Jakarta.

Nowadays, Kelapa Gading is famous as a prestigious shopping centre area. Kelapa Gading is one of the subdisctrict in Jakarta, with five shopping malls in 20 kilometer radius. In 2004, Kelapa Gading has approximately 365,000 m2 of shopping centres. My favorite place to kill-time in Kelapa Gading is La Piazza which is also the extension from Kelapa Gading Mall.

La Piazza is a lifestyle concept and open place plaza for live music or watching soccer. One of many best places in Jakarta to hang out with a lot of options for coffee shops such as Starbuck's, Sega Fredo, The Barrel, Bakoel Coffee, DQ, and on the ground floor several restaurants : Loy Kee, Pizza Hut, Chatterbox, Healthy Choice and food court serves snacks on the first floor. The free hot-spot facility also offered by La Piazza by purchasing any (amount) of F&B within La Piazza tenants, exchange the receipt with username and password provided on the information/reception desk. The F&B prices are affordable and cheaper in La Terrace (food court)

The crowd come from Kelapa Gading, Sunter and Pulo Mas area and people start coming mostly in the evening and a bit crowded on weekends especially when there's an event is being held in the main atrium. Therefore I should warn you, when third-party is conducting an event that is targeted to teenage or inviting popular celebrities or bands, you might want to avoid La Piazza, sometimes the event makes it less comfortable because of the C and D class crowd are freely to coming around and the noisy sound from the stage in the main atrium, if you don't mind, think that as a free entertainment.

I provide you with Kelapa Gading Map, hope you will visit La Piazza after has business trips in Central Jakarta.
